Note on Sahir :  I could not get the video or audio of this song, but lyrics were available in a  great website on work of Sahir :   www.sahir-ludhianvi.com. I picked it up from there.

This is the first movie of Sahir, in which he wrote four songs.

(1)        Badal rahi hai jindagi

(2)       Bhaarat jananii terii jai ho jai ho

(3)       Jaag uthaa  hai hindustaan

(4)     Mere charkhe men jeevan kaa raag sakhii

This movie has two more songs, but they are by other lyricists.  By the time (1948) the movie was completed and released, partition took place and Sahir’s work went unnoticed.  Sahir had to leave India to see his mother who had shifted to Lahore. Sahir stayed in Lahore for one and half year, but came back to India, when he heard that he might get arrested for the articles he wrote against Pakistan Government.
